Wild Oregano (Origanum campactum) is an aromatic herb native to the mountains of the Mediterranean region. The oil is derived from its leaves and has a pleasant, warm and spicy scent. What gives oregano its distinctive fragrance is a phenol called carvacrol. It is this same substance that gives oregano its antibacterial property, which can assist in creating a healthy complexion.
