Vinpocetine has been used to treat mental and brain disorders in Europe for over a quarter of a century. Vinpocetine’s many benefits to brain functions include increased blood flow to the brain, expansion of brain blood vessels, increased glucose and oxygen intake, and even clearer cognitive abilities. Vinpocetine also activates a specific type of neuron, called the locus coeruleus, which decreases the aging brain. Vinpocetine helps reduce the disappearance of this important neuron, which helps with cognitive abilities in the brain, and also maximizes the efforts of the remaining neurons.

Patients suffering from mental disorders were studied by researchers at the University of Surrey in a 1991 study, which revealed that those who took vinpocetine received significant improvements in brain function. A similar study revealed that participants who took vinpocetine consistently performed better in tests of mental abilities than those who did not. Vinpocetine has also been proven to improve memory capabilities.
