by Vitabase

  • Amino acid important to production of brain chemicals
  • Helps manufacture melanin for skin and hair color
  • Used by organs which make and regulate hormones
  • Can help improve mood
  • Aids the body in handling stress
As an amino acid, Tyrosine is used by the body as an important building block for vital brain chemicals. Those chemicals, epinephrine, norepinephrine, serotonin, and dopamine, are involved in the regulation of mood. Tyrosine also plays a part in the manufacture of melanin, the pigment which gives skin and hair their color. Finally, Tyrosine is needed by the organs which make and regulate hormones, like the adrenal thyroid, and pituitary glands.

Because tyrosine is a key component in the production of brain chemicals, it may help support emotional health by improving mood and counteracting some symptoms of depression. Tyrosine is also classified as an adaptogen. Adaptogens help the body deal with physical and psychological stresses. Tyrosine affects the body in this manner because it is a building block for the body’s two main stress-related hormones.

In addition to Tyrosine, our formula includes Vitamin B6. Vitamin B6 works synergistically with Tyrosine to produce brain chemicals like serotonin. Adding B6 increases the efficiency of tyrosine.
