Phase 2 is a derivative of white kidney beans. This completely natural product has proven safe in numerous studies. During normal digestion starches are broken down by an enzyme called amylase. The result is glucose. The body uses some glucose as fuel but when we eat more starch than our body can use, the excess glucose is stored as fat. Phase 2 works by inhibiting the action of amylase meaning less starch is transformed into glucose. Less glucose means less stored fat. The starch is processed and leaves the body as waste.

In a 2001 Italian study volunteers took Phase 2 or a placebo for 30 days. The placebo group had an average weight loss of .75 pounds. The group taking Phase 2 lost an average of 6.45 pounds. A similar study in the U.S. in 2000 produced comparable results.

Phase 2 should be used as part of a sensible diet and exercise program. There are no known interactions with other supplements or drugs. Some individuals may experience more frequent bowel movements or stomach upset. Phase 2 is not recommended for pregnant or nursing mothers.
