Serrapeptidase is no longer available for sale in the US because of safety concerns due to the fact that it was found in the gut of the Japanese silkworm along with Serratia marcescens, a potentially pathogenic bacteria. Vitabase Serrazimes is a safe, yet effective alternative for Serrapeptidase. Serrazimes is a blend of enzymes taken from the Aspergillus oryzae and Aspergillus melleus fungi that has a 1:1 enzymatic equivalent of Serrapeptidase activity.
