Sandalwood

The fragrance of the sandalwood tree (Santalum album) is so uplifting that it has, in religious practice, been associated with the divine and with elevated states of being. The oil produced from its heartwood has a sweet and mellow scent similar to that derived from other fragrant trees, but with a kind of sparkling note that makes it unlike anything else. Woody, rich and nuanced, sandalwood oil is suitable for both men and women. It forms the basis for many perfumes and its antiseptic qualities, together with its appealing scent, make it an ideal component of soap.
