Children’s Probiotic Powder is formulated to aid in children’s digestion.
Probiotics are beneficial bacteria believed to help improve digestion by balancing the intestinal microflora. This delicate balance can be upset during a course of antibiotic treatment, which kills off beneficial organisms along with those that cause disease. Probiotics are involved in the metabolism and fermentation of food within the small intestine. Their absence creates discomfort. A few probiotics include the Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium families, as well as certain yeasts.
Over several centuries, cultured dairy products containing probiotics like kefir, koumiss, leben and dahi were consumed for their therapeutic effect. Nutrition researchers are trying to identify and develop specific probiotics to treat specific health issues. The development and use of probiotics is one of the most active pursuits in nutritional research today.
