Vaginal Dryness During Menopause
This is very uncomfortable for me to discuss however, I really need some advice so here it is.... I am 49 yrs old I haven’t had a period in 5 years, I am now in a relationship and here lies the problem, the vaginal dryness, and more importantly the lack of muscle expansion, I don’t know how else to describe it, all I know is I feel like a virgin again. It hurts like the dickens and its not just the dryness its more that I won’t expand. Please tell me there is something I can do other than going on hormones from a physician.
I am assuming you are taking the Ursodiol tablets due to a diagnosis of Primary Biliary Cirrhosis. Unfortunately, there is not a lot know about why people get this condition. Some think it is related to an auto-immune processes or possibly exposure to toxins. Regardless, Maca root has not been extensively researched for its side effects or more importantly, its effects on the liver and biliary tree. It has been used traditionally in Peru as a food for hundreds of years without any known side effects. Current research also has not revealed any known side effects. I do not know of any direct contraindications for you to use maca with your current condition. However, I would advise you to be careful when starting anything new and make sure your doctor monitors your condition closely.
