Arthritis pain
I have ostioporosses and arthritis in the hip I have alot of pain now that extends to the lower back also with a burning sensation cant walk stand or sit 6 tylonols so far not working. Help
My advice would be to get started on an aggressive dietary
and supplemental approach to reducing inflammation and supporting joint structure.
From a dietary perspective you should focus on eliminating foods that tend to
produce a lot of inflammation such as sugar, coffee, alcohol, refined grains
and diary products. Make sure to eliminate night shade vegetable like
tomatoes and eggplant as well. Doing an aggressive dietary intervention
for a set duration of 3 weeks can help to give you an idea of how much these
foods are influencing your pain. Focus your diet on vegetables, lean
meats like chicken, fish and turkey, fruit, nuts, seeds and whole grains like
brown rice. Although it might seem difficult at first, if you have
significant benefit it will be well worth the trouble.
From a supplement perspective start with some joint support formulas that
contain ingredients like Glucosamine, chondroitin and MSM. Although they
do not work for every person, there are a large number of people who do benefit
significantly from these nutrients. You may need to try all of them at different
times to see which ones work best for your body.
Fish oil is also a must as long as you are not taking any prescription blood
thinners. Fish oil contains ingredients that can greatly reduce
inflammation in the body which results in less pain. You want to get
somewhere between 3,000-6,000mg per day of a high quality fish oil
supplement.
Next I would suggest looking into an herbal formula that contains naturally
anti-inflammatory herbs. These work in a similar way to over the counter
pain medications by inhibiting the COX 2 enzyme which is responsible for making
the chemical signals in the body that trigger inflammation and pain. Herbs
to look for in a formula like this are Turmeric, Holy Basil, Boswellia, Ginger,
Rosemary, Bromelain and Skullcap. There are many natural pain-relief
formulas that contain a profile of herbs similar to this.
